KM: The "piece of divinity within us" is something God-given where God retains his Divinity, and we don't possess it to the transcendental-Emerson-Whitman extent that we are entirely divine in essence. Something in the rhythm of the last words that reminds me of Wallace Stevens: "Their boisterous devotion to the sun" (a counter-sentiment).
