On September 11, 2008, ControlThink announced ThinkEssentials v2.1 Professional Edition, an installer tool for Z-Wave enabled homes. This new version adds advanced diagnostics features for Z-Wave networks and configuration tools for Vizia RF and Vizia RF + devices.

ThinkEssentials v2.1 Professional Edition introduces backup and restore features for Z-Wave networks as well as signal strength analysis for compatible Z-Wave devices. It also offers simple configuration of scenes, zones and 2-way communication in Vizia RF and Vizia RF + networks. And ThinkEssentials makes it simple to integrate Vizia RF + devices into HAI, Crestron and other third-party systems through automatic setup of the Vizia RF + RS232 Interface.

The new software is a free update for all existing ThinkEssentials v2.0 customers. It is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista (including 64-bit editions).

ThinkEssentials v2.1 costs $49.95 for the standard edition and $99.95 for professional edition.
