Voice controlled audio mobile texting

On January 8, 2010, iSpeech, creator of DriveSafe.ly, the free mobile app aimed to stop distracted driving, announced new features including fully automated text message and email response by voice. The new features will be rolled out throughout 2010 beginning in Q1 with additional enhancements to existing BlackBerry and Android OS versions to be released first.

The app is currently reading millions of text (SMS) and email messages aloud every week to drivers around the world - helping to keep their eyes on the road. To date, nearly two million people have used the app, making DriveSafe.ly an innovative solution to distracted driving.

When enabled, DriveSafe.ly runs in the background without draining the battery until a new message, text (SMS) or email message arrives. Without any action from the user, the message is read aloud. With 2.0, the user will then be prompted for a voice command which allows for voice response, auto-response, repeat message or call back.
