V Australia is launching its third route from the United States to Australia with non-stop service between Los Angeles and Melbourne beginning November 29, 2009. The new service follows direct flights from Los Angeles to Sydney and Brisbane.
V Australia is a three-class boutique style airline offering two in-flight bars, mood lighting including twilight and sunset, bathrooms with piped music including a ladies only bathroom and other touches of Australiana from salt and pepper shakers to hidden wallpaper murals.
Special round-trip fare for tickets purchased from November 27 to December 1, 2009 for travel on direct flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles from December 16, 2009 to April 30, 2010: $948.
Normal round-trip U.S. to Australia fares: international economy, $1160; premium economy, $3772; business class, $4389.
