Teijin Aramid will exihibit at the Milipol Trade Fair in Paris from November 17-20, 2009. The company's Twaron ballistic microfilament fiber technology allows body armor manufacturers to produce comfortable, lightweight protective vests. This technology is the basis for a complete family of Twaron products, including bullet and fragment-resistant fabrics, anti-stabbing materials, and advanced ballistic laminates. Microfilament-based Twaron laminated fabric technology (LFT) is the basis of the next generation of aramid body armor with an excellent weight-performance-comfort ratio. Thanks to the chemical stability of the para-aramid polymer used, vests made with these fabrics typically have long lifetimes, while continuously providing high levels of protection.
Whether in ground vehicles or aircraft, Twaron ballistic laminates provide intelligent and effective protection against high-energy bullets, hand grenades, explosive blasts and secondary fragments - even increased protection against specific mines. Twaron laminates can easily be installed during or after the construction of vehicles, either alone or as part of a compound containing a wide variety of materials.
