On August 1, 2008, PlayCore announced that it will be releasing a new thermoplastic coating for play structure decks. The thermoplastic coating has similar performance characteristics to PlayCore's current coating, as it is highly wear resistant, has excellent color retention, and is environmentally friendly.
With their recent acquisition of Ultra Play, PlayCore is able to integrate Ultra Play's manufacturing processes for this additional coating material into their commercial playground products. The thermoplastic technology has been used successfully in Ultra Play products for the past 8 years. The deck coating will be available in late fall 2008, and will be available in addition to the traditional coating material currently offered.
