On December 8, 2009, Mobile Mandate announced that their mobile electronic communication compliance solution has achieved compliance with Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) XML schema for export. The company completed EDRM testing and received notification of compliance in September allowing its mobile message compliance solution to be easily integrated with e-discovery collection solutions.
The EDRM Project was created to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the electronic discovery market -- a problem identified in the Socha-Gelbmann Electronic Discovery surveys as a major concern for vendors and consumers alike. The Electronic Discovery Reference Model provides a common, flexible and extensible framework for the development, selection, evaluation and use of electronic discovery products and services.
Mobile Mandate is a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution that provides corporations with capabilities to log, archive, review, extract, and supervise electronic communication on mobile devices including text messages, pin to pin, and BlackBerry Messenger. Further, text messages can be identified, collected, preserved, and exported via EDRM-compliant XML to support the e-discovery workflow and meet mobile e-discovery requirements as defined by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP)
Industry legal and regulatory requirements now require companies to archive all mobile communications including SMS and text messages. Many companies have chosen to meet these requirements by blocking functionality and reducing the overall effectiveness of the mobile device. Mobile Mandate enables companies to deploy a solution that enforces company policy, meets industry regulations (such as SEC 17a-4, MiFID and NASD 3010 ) and retains the full functionality of their mobility investment. As a result, Mobile Mandate 2.0 enables corporations to increase the effectiveness of their mobile workforce, improve user satisfaction, and drive mobile communications for collaboration and business continuity.
