Announced February 13, 2009, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority awarded MicroGen Systems a contract for its piezoelectric vibrational energy harvester project.
Currently tire-pressure measurement systems are battery-powered, requiring about 64 million batteries annually. A green power source like MicroGen's micro power product could dramatically reduce the need for these batteries.
