Me.dium enables people to find information together online. Me.dium offers a social browsing toolbar that allows people to surf the Web with their friends, as well as a social search engine, a way to find information based on what people are surfing right now.

On August 27, 2008, Me.dium announced that its social search service will be integrated into Microsoft's new Windows Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 (IE8). Microsoft chose Me.dium as a launch partner because of Medium's ability to help IE8 take the web experience beyond the page.

Me.dium's social search harnesses the activity of the crowds to let users find information that has relevance based on what people are actually looking at right now. The tool helps users to keep up with what's hot, and see recommendations ranked by what people are actually looking at; reflecting the changing interests of the online community.
