Integrated receiver processor platform
From YenraWiki
Announced September 10, 2008, Integrated Receiver Processor (IRP) platform from Scopus Video Networks is a versatile multiformat receiving/decoding/processing platform for cable, satellite, terrestrial, and IPTV operations. The IRP brings together an array of unique processing capabilities, such as multiplexing, IP streaming, transmodulation, and descrambling, to provide a complete reception solution for content contribution and distribution over IP, ASI, or satellite infrastructures.
The IRP platform targets broadcasters' requirements for handling multiformat HD/SD content, MPEG-2/H.264 decoding, transport stream descrambling, IP edge streaming, ASI aggregation, remultiplexing, transmodulation, HD-to-SD downconversion, and more.
Additionally, the IRP platform incorporates a powerful multiplexing core that enables grooming and PSIP aggregation of multiple HD and SD programs for digital content distribution. This all-in-one architecture eliminates the need for an external multiplexing device, reducing overall system costs and complexity.
The integrated receiver processor platform also offers a TS processor for multiple-program descrambling, remultiplexing and streaming, and transmodulation from multiple DVB-S/S2 ASI inputs to multiple QAM outputs. A wide variety of inputs (8VSB, ASI, and IP) and outputs (baseband video, audio, ASI, and IP) are available, making it the perfect choice for a wide range of contribution and distribution applications.
