IDTV

iDTV stands for integrated digital television.

On August 26, 2008, Legend Silicon announced that it joined forces with TCL, one of China's largest television makers, to demonstrate iDTV technology in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games. The companies showcased the sporting events in high-definition digital TV at displays in major shopping malls, residential areas and other prominent public venues throughout Beijing.

TCL's iDTVs are powered by Legend Silicon's most advanced single chip demodulator, the LGS-8G52, which is fully compliant with the China digital terrestrial television broadcast (DTTB) standard GB20600-2006. The LGS-8G52 is the third generation of the full GB20600-2006 standard compliant demodulator from Legend Silicon. It offers the industry leading performance in all the transmission modes and its advanced technology ensures that TCL's iDTV can deliver the best quality.

TCL's iDTVs provide three ways for consumers to watch television programs, significantly expanding available options for Chinese viewers. These include free-to-air terrestrial digital TV in both high-definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) formats; digital cable TV in both HD and SD formats; and traditional analog TV. The new iDTV from TCL also enables Chinese consumers to enjoy digital HD and SD television programs without an additional set-top box.
