Costume fashion

Over the past few years, Party City has led the Halloween costume industry by collaborating with designers and manufacturers to incorporate the latest fashion and pop cultures trends.

"This year, the new Halloween costumes are heavily influenced by what you see on the fashion runways, in the movies and on TV," says Melissa Sprich, Party City Merchandise Manager of Costumes and Accessories.

In preparation, Snow White, Tinkerbelle and Wicked Witch of the West have undergone a couture makeover. Party City and its top Halloween designers have created the trendiest costumes yet for this Halloween season. These costumes feature sleeker silhouettes, softer fabrics and hot, must-have accessories.

"I get most of my inspiration from TV shows like Project Runway, TV characters or just browsing pop culture websites," says Halloween costume designer Chris Guzman, "I've given characters like Snow White a more sassy and hip look with a velvet corset, A-line skirt and thigh highs. The woman who was Snow White at age ten can be Snow White again, but with much more edge and plenty of attitude."

Chris is the designer behind all of Party City's new and exclusive collection of Rebel Toons costumes. These costumes feature some of the most popular Toon characters in history; Alice in Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood, Tinkerbelle, Snow White, Little Bo Peep and the Wicked Witch of the West and sport a totally re-invented look and feel.

But women are not the only ones who will enjoy vicarious dress up and style flares this Halloween. Many of the top costumes for girls, boys and men are also influenced by pop culture and movie trends. Batman:The Dark Knight, Star Wars: Clone Trooper, Transformers and Iron Man are among the top costumes for males. High School Musical's Sharpay and Gabriella and the sensationally-popular Hannah Montana are expected to be the favorites for girls.

The entire Halloween collection featuring thousands of costumes will officially launch online August 12, 2008 and in stores on September 1, 2008.
