Energy Camp, a collaborative one-day gathering dedicated to the reduction of IT's global carbon footprint, will take place on September 16, 2008 at the Javits Convention Center in New York. It will be kicked off by Jerry Cuomo of WebSphere and IBM, an innovator of solutions in the areas of high performance transactional systems, middleware appliances, enterprise application virtualization, and web 2.0 technologies. Audiences are invited to join this forum where industry stakeholders will gather together to discuss the growing impact of today's energy costs on information technology's bottom line, and the importance of energy conservation and utilizing greener IT solutions and methods.
Following IBM's keynote address, the program will be led by James Governor. Governor is co-founder and principal analyst of RedMonk and author of the Greenmonk.net blog, a community dedicated to the use of open source and social software to improve the environment and encourage good behaviors.
