Blue light treatment at 417 nm has been studied for years for the treatment of acne. Blue light therapy acts by killing the P. Acnes bacteria that causes acne. The Tru-Blu table-top device provides light from high-output fluorescent lamps. Treatments are painless, non-invasive, effective, and safe for all ages. Acne is often resolved after 10-12 sessions.

Announced July 25, 2007, National Biological Corporation has received FDA approval to add the Tru-Blu to its line of phototherapy products. Designed for a physician's office with its small footprint and ease of operation, the Tru-Blu will treat facial acne and the difficult to reach acne on the torso of the body. Since 40% of all acne lesions are located on an individual's back, the design of the Tru-Blu is ideal for resolution of these lesions in many patients.
