Wi-Fi Alliance : IEEE 802.11 interoperability certification

Andrew Corporation announced its membership of the Wi-Fi Alliance, a non-profit international organization that certifies the interoperability of IEEE 802.11 products and promotes them as the global, wireless LAN standard across all market segments. Andrew Corporation's range of solutions for global broadband applications includes wireless high-speed Internet, T1 replacement, and Wireless LANs.

"Defining standards and sticking to them is essential to ensure that people -- all over the world - are free to enjoy the broadband experience by being able to wirelessly connect to their networks or the Internet whether indoors or outdoors. For manufacturers of infrastructure equipment like Andrew it gives us the opportunity to work with other leading edge companies to help define the future of Wi-Fi," said Paul Cox, Group President Antenna Products, Andrew Corporation.

"We are pleased to have Andrew Corporation, one of the wireless communications industry leaders, join the Wi-Fi Alliance," said Dennis Eaton, Chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance. "As a strong supporter of interoperability and the 802.11 technology, we are confident that Andrew will help our organization to achieve the goal of enhancing the user experience through product interoperability."

Andrew Corporation supplies antennas, transmission lines and accessories for Wireless Internet Service Providers, as well as for backhaul, in-building and mobile applications.
