Software to Track Accessibility Status - Yenra

Verifies that web sites are in compliance with accessibility standards for web-based information.

HiSoftware, a leader in Web site accessibility solutions, today announced it has joined Mercury Interactive Corporation's Open Architecture Program (OAP) and will integrate AccVerify, a solution which verifies that Web sites are in compliance with accessibility standards for Web-based information, with Mercury Interactive's Test Director, a global test management solution for organizing and managing the testing process.

The integration will enable project teams to verify Web site accessibility in compliance with Section 508 and W3C Priority 1 accessibility guidelines from the initial design stage through final testing. As a result, project managers will be able to assign resources easily for Section 508 remediation work, ensuring that Web sites remain in compliance. The integration will provide a simple, cost-effective way to ensure that Web sites meet U.S. federal standards for accessibility.

HiSoftware accessibility solutions are the only solutions that give project managers the ability to track the accessibility status of a Web project and supervise the workflow of project workers. The History feature also allows project managers to create custom filtered reports by characteristics of the project, so that reports contain only the information the user wants to see.

"The integrated solution will bring automation of accessibility to the Webmaster who uses TestDirector for tracking the accessibility requirements of multiple Web servers, and makes managing accessibility more efficient," said Robert B. Yonaitis, CEO and President of HiSoftware.

"Organizations like HiSoftware can take advantage of Mercury Interactive's Open Architecture Program to deliver an optimized solution to its customers," said Jim Hare, Director of Strategic Alliances at Mercury Interactive. "The combination of HiSoftware's Web site accessibility solution and Mercury Interactive's global test management solution will enable HiSoftware to integrate test planning, test scheduling, test execution, and defect tracking into a single solution."

AccVerify's Accessibility Recorder and History database work with TestDirector to allow users to identify the accessibility status of a Web project on demand for a specific point in time, or to track the progress of the project over time. The user can identify "phases" of the project by author, time, date, department, and more.
