Meeting Accessibility Compliance Regulations for Section 508

Adobe, a leader in Network Publishing, today announced an agreement with SSB Technologies, a leading web accessibility software provider, to distribute SSB's InSightLE Web accessibility compliance tool free of charge to all Adobe GoLive users. Through the agreement, GoLive users will be able to use InSightLE to automatically identify accessibility violations in Web pages created in GoLive to ensure compliance with standards mandated by the federal government's Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Section 508 requires all federal government agency Web sites, intranets and Web- enabled applications to be accessible to people with disabilities. Now, GoLive developers who use InSightLE will be able to save up to 90% of the time required to reach Section 508 compliance as compared to manually checking Web sites for accessibility violations.

"Adobe is committed to pursuing technological advances that promote accessibility for people with disabilities", said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of product marketing for Adobe. "Our alliance with SSB Technologies is a natural extension of that commitment. We are pleased to provide our developers with tools that will enable them to make their Web sites accessible to everyone."

"SSB has been at the forefront of providing unparalleled compliance solutions to the Web community and we recognize Adobe has a strong tradition of accessible technology," said Marco Sorani, President of SSB Technologies. "Together, Adobe and SSB will make it even easier for developers to address Section 508 requirements with the best tools and in the most cost-effective manner."
