The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) is the largest combined Fire and EMS provider in the world serving and area of more than 310 square miles and over 7 million people. Hundreds of the bravest and best gave their lives in the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center. With courage and concern for other people, they stayed inside until the collapse of the structure crushed them.
