Nasal Wash : Drug-Free Alternative for Sinus Treatment
|
SinuCleanse, an all-natural treatment for the instant relief of sinus and nasal problems, is now available at Walgreens retail locations throughout the nation. After initial success in Wisconsin, the national retailer has expanded its sales of SinuCleanse to all 4,227 stores in 44 states and Puerto Rico. Based on the neti pot used in the practice of yoga for centuries, scientifically proven, and recommended by thousands of healthcare professionals, the SinuCleanse treatment from Med-Systems establishes a new sinus category for Walgreens: nasal wash. SinuCleanse uses saline solution to cleanse the nasal passages. It works by rinsing mucus and drainage out of the nose, thereby treating the root problem and not just the symptoms of sinus disease. "There is an enormous demand for products that safely and effectively ease sinusitis symptoms such as nasal congestion. Over 37 million people suffer from the symptoms of sinusitis - runny nose, headache, cough, post-nasal drip and bad breath - every day," said Dr. Diane G. Heatley, president, Med-Systems, and developer of the SinuCleanse system. "At the same time, more and more doctors and patients are tiring of drugs and their side effects. Now with nationwide availability through Walgreens, SinuCleanse provides a readily available drug-free alternative." Med-Systems is backing the sales of SinuCleanse in Walgreens circulars and with print and radio advertising. The SinuCleanse system includes the nasal irrigation pot, which is unbreakable and easily cleaned. It also includes packets of natural, drug-free saline solution packets with complete instructions for use. Additional solution packets can be purchased separately. The acceptance of the product rose dramatically in the Midwest due to a study by the University of Wisconsin at Madison, which found that SinuCleanse provides a simple drug-free treatment for sinus infections. In the study, participants who added SinuCleanse to their daily regimen showed decreased symptoms, decreased medication use and improved overall health over the six-month period of the study. SinuCleanse has an advantage because it's an all-natural, drug-free treatment. Many of the medical treatments for sinus and nasal conditions, whether by prescription or over-the-counter, have side effects and can interact with each other. SinuCleanse is a good low cost alternative to those treatments. It also can be used in tandem with many of those treatments to further improve sinus health. Dr. Heatley, an ear, nose and throat physician in Madison, Wis., said, "SinuCleanse is an excellent solution because it can be used by people who only have symptoms once in a while and by people who have symptoms every day, whether they are triggered by allergy, dry air, second-hand cigarette smoke, pollution or the common cold."
