Miss Japan, Riyo Mori was chosen the winner of Miss Universe 2007 on May 28, 2007 in Mexico City.

Riyo Mori is twenty years old and has been dancing since she was four. She loves traveling and enjoys visiting museums and watching musicals.

Each contestant from more than eighty countries around the world were judged in categories of swimsuit, evening gown, and interview.

Vanessa Minnillo and Mario Lopez co-hosted the pageant. Celebrity judges included Heroes star James Kyson Lee, Deal or No Deal model and Get Out host Lindsay Clubine, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, musician Dave Navarro, World and Olympic figure skating champion Michelle Kwan, celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, fashion designer Marc Bouwer, Project Runway judge Nina Garcia, and 1993 Miss Universe Dayanara Torres.
