Lindsay Lohan : Teen actress represents designer of fine classic weatherproof canvas and trimmed leather handbags in retail boutiques this fall

Continuing with the mega successful introduction of his first trend collection last fall, designer Peter Dooney introduces two new collections targeted to today's young, and young at heart, consumer.

To symbolize the spirit of the collection, Peter Dooney has selected actress Lindsey Lohan as the new face to be featured in the upcoming national ad campaign, which will debut in August of 2004.

Lohan follows actress Mischa Barton, star of the TV show The OC. Barton was featured in a premier campaign for the youth brand. For the second collection, Peter Dooney once again teamed up with an eight-girl design team to create the two new collections. With the help of Teen Vogue, the team was selected from hundreds of entries sent in from readers all over the United States. After pouring over applications and taking inspiration from each individual entry, Peter Dooney and his chosen team set off for Italy. Destinations during the trip included both Milan and Florence, where the team was inspired by everything from the trade shows to street fairs. Between factory visits, tannery excursions, and design meetings there was plenty of opportunity to get the creative juices flowing.

The first of the two new collections is composed of seven different styles all of which are embellished with gold and brightly colored enamel charms spelling out "Dooney and Bourke". The second collection features hand drawn hearts in crayon colors. Both collections are made of durable weatherproof canvas and trimmed in leather. Together, the heart and charm collections promise to be the hottest in new handbags this fall. The bags are scheduled to hit Dooney and Bourke retail boutiques in August; they will also be available at department stores such as Macy's, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Lord and Taylor.
